ABSTRACT

A study conducted in calculus courses, emphasizing multiple representations and using graphing calculators, examined students' responses to limits and derivatives by looking at representational mode(s) chosen; when the graphing calculator was used and by what type of students; and whether the calculator was used as an exploratory or confirmatory tool.
