ABSTRACT

In this paper we report on the development and conduct of a senior level course designed to familiarize the prospective elementary and middle school teacher ('mathematics specialist') with the computing technologies relevant to mathematics instruction, as well as the issues surrounding the use of such technologies. The emphasis is on the capabilities and pedagogical implications, with minimal attention given to particular machine or program idiosyncracies.
