Investigating the St. Petersburg Paradox with Maple

ABSTRACT

We explore problems associated with the Saint Petersburg Paradox, beyond the usual expected value computation for a single play of the game. Maple is used to simulate repeated plays of the game, as well as for the computation of various theoretical probabilities relating to the game.
