ABSTRACT

We often need fast, simple, accurate solutions to equations. Here we present several nontrivial approximations of roots of equations, polynomial or non-polynomial, using the hand-held calculator, derived from classical methods. Definite advantages are the calculators' ready availability, the high level of precision, and the ease in implementation of the various techniques.
