A Flash-based Demonstration of Quaternions and Spherical Linear Interpolation

ABSTRACT

A comparison of rotational methods using matrices, Euler angles, and quaternions is given. The quaternion based technique Slerp - spherical linear interpolation - which allows for smooth rotations between two coordinate frames is also illustrated. Flash programs illustrate the concepts.
