ABSTRACT

This paper discusses a problem-solving approach to realistic problems involving car and home purchases, refinancing, home renovation, saving strategies, descriptive statistics and probability. Student projects, examples of students' work and Moraine Valley's online Liberal Arts Math course are shared. This course is also taught in web-assisted and traditional classroom formats.
