ABSTRACT

This paper will briefly describe the nature of the labs we have created for the teacher-prep courses and how they are being used. The purpose of these labs is two-fold. One, to facilitate the learning of the concepts, and two, to acclimate these prospective teachers to technology so they will be more likely to use it in their classrooms. This paper will also briefly discuss the rich resources available in the Shodor Foundation's Interactivate, which is free on the web and is also bundled as a CD with Billstein's text for elementary school teachers. There are literally scores of modules in Interactivate complete with lesson plans and support materials.
