ABSTRACT

Franklin College has implemented the use of computers across the mathematics curriculum with all classes in mathematics making use of some time in one of our computer laboratories. This includes courses from a liberal arts mathematics course on mathematical models through calculus and on to the senior seminar where students are expected to be able to make appropriate use of computers in discussions of problems and topics.

Franklin College has two mathematics department laboratories both funded partially from NSF grants. The curriculum reform was accomplished under a grant from Eli Lily Foundation. The poster session will include information on the laboratories and their use by the classes of the department, and the layouts of the laboratories. Samples of laboratory session sheets will be available. Information will also be included on how this has affected the teaching and learning styles.
