ABSTRACT

Astronomy can be a powerful motivational tool in precalculus. Recreating ancient models of planetary motion, simulating the path of an asteroid, predicting planetary phases, and calculating gravitational attraction on a spaceship intrigue students. All that's needed for this journey into space is graphing technology and precalculus mathematics.
