interested in attending graduate school and studying
mathematics or statistics, then preliminary applications
for admission are available from this web page. Please complete
the preliminary application and return it as soon as possible.
There is no charge for reviewing this application. The Graduate
Committee of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics
provides this service in order to assist you in making your
decision as to whether or not you wish to formally apply for
admission. The Committee meets reqularly and your preliminary
application will be reviewed and an advisory decision made
within two weeks of receipt of the application. The advisory
decision will be one of the following:
1) Unlikely to be considered for admission. 2) Likely to be considered for admission but unlikely to be considered for financial support. 3) Likely to be considered for admission and for financial support.If the advisory decision is number 3, then you will be encouraged to follow the full application procedure. If the advisory decision is number 2 and you have indicated that you do not require financial support, then you will also be encouraged to follow the full application procedure.
